The Wonders of Animals

I have a cute little story to tell.
Behind my parent's backyard is a farm that has been there for a very long time. It's a working farm and they have cows, chickens, turkeys, and sheep. WELL-about a month ago my family discovered something very interested living in the hedges in their backyard. It was a momma turkey! Somehow she got over the fence into their backyard and made a little home in the middle of the hedge. Not only was the backyard a new home for the momma turkey, but also for her 14-15 eggs! Yep-she layed her eggs in our hedges. I have a lot of respect for this momma turkey, she was a trooper. She did not budge from sitting on those eggs until they hatched about a month later. We're talking through snow and everything. I remember visiting one day and she had a thin layer of snow over her body-but no budging. Last weekend, I was there to witness the baby turkeys (Poults) who were born 2 days earlier. The next day, when they were about 3 days old the momma turkey flew over the fence to the farm, she gawked at her little ones to follow her through the holes in the fence back to their real home on the farm. And that was that, away they went. Who says you can't have a little bit of small farm town in Centerville?
