4 Year Anniversary

It has been 4 years since Josh and I have been married. I finally don't feel like a newlywed. I did for the first 3 years, now i'm starting to not feel like such a rookie. I know I am, but at least it doesn't feel that way. We had a fun time celebrating this year, Josh was great and planned a lot out. Our anniversary fell during the week (yesterday to be exact). Because it was in the middle of the work week, we had our big celebration last weekend. Josh works at The Peery hotel once a week and he got us a great room there. We stopped by the Bountiful temple before hand. The next morning we had breakfast at Market Street Grill. I have been there a lot, but never for breakfast. Their breakfast is delish! I highly recommend it. Kari was nice enough to spend the night at our house with Beckett. He loved it and we are grateful!

That night we got to go to the Utah/BYU game! I was excited! It was a lot of fun, but I felt out of place. The game was at BYU and there weren't too many of us Ute fans around. Regardless, it was a lot of fun and i'm glad we were able to get tickets.

Even though we celebrated big, we couldn't just do NOTHING the day of our actual anniversary. After school and work we spent a family night around temple square and took our traditional picture. We then got dessert at the Cheesecake Factory. You can't go wrong with cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory :)

4 years down, a zillion to go :)

Our Week In Review

We've had a lot going on in our household this week...so why not document it? My parents went out of town last week for my dad's business trip. While they were away on the weekend, Bree stayed at our house.
We ran some errands and got Beckett a new fish, his name is Blue.
We spent a lot of time dodging the rain. It has been raining a ton lately! Beckett has enjoyed the rain puddles. As a boy, you can't jump in too many puddles. It's just not possible.
We took baths. We like staying clean....especially after jumping in rain puddles.
Last weekend Beckett decided to start climbing out of his crib. As a result, we switched the front part of his crib out to make it a toddler bed. We had 3 days of h-e-l-l trying to get him adjusted, it didn't help that he came down with a cold at the same time. He literally was up about every hour for three nights in a row. However, after the 3 days he adjusted and has been sleeping in his new toddler bed ever since. He hasn't gotten up in the night at all. Hallelujah! It's amazing what a good nights sleep will do ya'.
We have been canning like crazy people at our house this month. We had planned on it with our flourishing garden. We have a small peach tree and it produced a lot of peaches. I was able to make Peach Freezer Jam, Canned Peach Pie Filling, and Canned Peaches. With our vegetables I canned salsa and Josh canned Pickles Green Tomatoes. I wish I could say we are done, but with the next round of tomatoes coming on I will be canning Spaghetti Sauce. It will be worth it later....or so I tell myself.

My cousin, Gillian, is on the varsity soccer team at Judge Memorial. They had a game against Woods Cross H.S. so we went over to the game and watched. It was nice to get out of the house and root for Gilly!
Last Friday was my school's annual faculty salsa competition. We all bring our salsa's and at lunchtime we judge them. The categories to win are: Most Unique, Best Overall, and Hottest. This is my 3rd year entering and I finally won! Woop Woop! I actually didn't even make it....haha, it was my mother-in-law's canned salsa. It has sugar in it which gives it a sweet flavor. I better start practicing my salsa's for next year.

Saturday night the hubs and I went on a hot date. He took me to the Thai food restaurant, Sawadee, which is downtown. Neither of us had been there before but we wanted to try something different. Boy, are we glad! The food was uh-mazing. Like seriously delicious. Josh said it is probably his new favorite restaurant. I can't wait to go back. After dinner we went to the exhibit at the Leonardo, '101 Inventions that Changed the World'. It wasn't exactly what we expected, but it was interesting and fun to get out for the night! My parents are troopers, always willing to watch Beckett for us. He loves it over there....he actually gets upset when I pick him up. He is never ready to go home!
I'll end this post with a picture of the cutest little boy in the world (whether biased or not). Happy Sunday!

Swiss Days

I have been wanting to go to Swiss Days for years now, but for some reason it never quite worked out. Finally, whether rain or shine I was set on going this year. Josh, Beckett, and I made the drive up to Midway this Saturday for Swiss Days for our first time. I expected it to be crazy busy because I had heard of a lot of people going. Boy, was it busy! There were hundreds of people everywhere and it was hotter than sin....but it was so worth it :)

It was perfect that I found out we were having a baby girl the day before because I was able to indulge on new baby things. Every booth was cute, i'm still dreaming about it, wish I could go back. I got a bunch of new things for baby girl and some things for our house as well. Beckett wasn't left out, he got a fun bow & arrow as well as a sword. Ya know, boy stuff. All in all, Swiss Days was a success and i'll DEFINITELY be making it a yearly tradition!

Gender Reveal

I have been counting down the days....literally....waiting for the doctor visit revealing the gender of baby #2. That day finally came last Friday. My appointment was at 3pm so I rush over right after work. We went into the doctor's office and he started the ultrasound. He checked the baby for a while, looked at it from all angles. Baby was moving a lot, hands were buzzing around (just like Beckett was). Finally, the doctor started looking for the gender. I could tell he wasn't sure for a while because of the angle of the baby. After a while I could sense that he had an idea but wanted to make sure. Finally my patience wore out and I asked him if it was a girl. He said he thought so but wanted to make sure. After looking for a few more minutes it was confirmed.....baby #2 is a GIRL! I was happy, grinning, and shocked at the same time.

I have been leaning towards a girl this whole pregnancy but wasn't going to be too surprised either way. With having Beckett I am obviously more comfortable with a boy and so when he told me it was a girl I was flooded with newness. A baby is a baby, but life is going to be different around here with a boy and girl....rather than 2 boys. Regardless, I am ecstatic! It is going to be so fun and Beckett will be a great older brother.
