Josh is 25!!

Yep, its true. Josh is officially a quarter of a century old! Yesterday, the 30th, we celebrated Josh's 25th birthday. I wanted to make it special, so we spent the whole day celebrating :) As soon as we woke up Josh opened his birthday presents from me. However, they weren't much of a suprise because he basically picked them out-but its still fun! I made a big breakfast for the big man, we got stuffed again-its starting to be a trend around here. Not good. We went to the gym and then got ready for our afternoon adventure. Josh wanted to do something random, so random is what we did. We looked up different museums in the area and decided to go to this Pioneer/Indian/Wild West/etc museum in Lehi. We actually had a ton of fun and saw some really cool stuff. We got to go into the old Lehi jail that was still in the same spot in the basement of the building-it was used in the 50's. It was a lot different from what we normally did, so mission accomplished! That night we went out for Sushi, Josh's favorite! His brother and girlfriend, Liz came, Liz's friend, and my twin brother. We ate LOTS of sushi-especially the boys. We had a great time, as we always do in our favorite sushi restaurant. After sushi we went and saw 'Avatar' in 3-D. It was really good, I recommend it! So, that about covers it-Josh's 25th birthday!

Our First Christmas

Josh & I made it through our first Christmas together ;) We celebrated Christmas with my family this year, and then went and visited his family in Orangeville the day after Christmas. Christmas eve we had a party at my parents house with the Stapley side of the family. Its always a lot of fun, sometimes chaotic, but thats how family parties roll. We ate some dinner-got stuffed! Then played games.
Josh & I woke up bright and early Christmas morning. We had our own little Christmas-opened presents from each other. I got totally spoiled. I got a heart rate monitor watch that i've wanted forever! I also got some shoes, clothes, jewelry. We then went and got our presents from Santa with everyone else in my fam. Had our HUGE Christmas breakfast and opened presents under the tree. I got more clothes for my new adventure as an 8th grade health teacher and Josh got some hiking boots he's been wanting-he's been raving about them ever since!
We hung out for the rest of the day, seeing family. Then ended our day at my Gma &Gpa Pete's house for Christmas dinner. The next day we headed down to Orangeville! It was great to see all of Josh's family, it had been too long since we'd seen them all last. We went bowling with everyone once we arrived, then got some dinner. We opened our presents that night and suprise, suprise-got totally spoiled, again! I got a new camera :) nike shocks, and some new work out pants! Just what I was hoping for! Overall, Christmas was a blast, it was great to spend it with a new family as well this year. I can't wait til it rolls around again!

Walkin' In a Winter Wonderland

What a weekend! Josh & I have been busy bees hanging out with family this weekend.
Friday night we went to Temple Square with Josh's side of the family (for the second time-but it was just as fun). We got to catch up with everyone, which was much needed, and then got a bite to eat after.
Saturday Josh got to fufill his need for 'riding'. We went up to Snowbird all day-skiing and snowboarding. It was an eventful day to say the least! My dad, sister, 2 cousins, Josh's bro & girlfriend all went-so that was hard in itself to get everyone coordinated! Then Josh & I had quite the time trying to figure out which run to take to meet up with everyone for lunch....and hour and a half later we made it, phew! We went on a few more runs and right before the lifts closed we decided to give it one more try. Of course, it being the last run, is when catastrophie hits. My cousins, Josh & I were waiting at the bottom of steep hill for my dad & sis. All of a sudden we saw a snowboarder totally crash into both of them. My dad sliding down the moutain (funny), but my sister got all tangled up in this snowboarder and slid down the mountain as well. My dad wasn't happy and sure did tell that guy off! The snowboarder took off down the trail, passing all of us at the bottom. Josh was a little mad-so he took off and caught up with him-and then told him a thing or too. haha, men. Needless to say, I don't think that snowboarder will ride out of control again. Bree wasn't hurt, but my dad did get a fat lip...THEN-on the way home, our car went crazysauce, broke down, got towed, and my mom had to drive and pick us up.
Our ski day turned out to be an adventurous one :)

Happy Holidays!

Winter Fun

Have I mentioned that I love Christmas time?! Well, I do, and beyond the fact that it's my favorite time of year, it's also the first Christmas I get to spend with Josh. Life is good.

Sunday we got to spend some time with my family-had brunch and hung out at my gma/gpa Pete's house. We exchanged gifts with the Youngs because their lucky ducks and get to spend Christmas in Hawaii!!

Then, I went to dinner with my besties....it's been way too long! I love these girls and as always, it was great catching up on their lives.

Last night, Josher & I went on a walk up the Provo Canyon to Bridal Veil Falls. It was very pretty and fun to walk around in the snow in the mountains, very pretty! We're trying to get outside and enjoy the fresh air this winter so that we're not cooped up in the house, even if it means tromping through the snow! :)

Jingle Bells

Christmas is by FAR the best time of the year! I've been patiently waiting for Christmas season ever since Halloween was over. The time has finally come, and the new fallen snow is the icing on the cake :)

Friday night the Stapes went out to dinner, at the Spaghetti Factory, then we went to see the lights at Temple Square. It was absolutely freezing but I love the tradition of going to see the lights.

Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving Break was amazing...I wished it would have lasted longer! Now Josh & I are back at school and work....slaving away. We can't wait until this hectic semester is over, only 2 1/2 more weeks, yay!!
A little before Thanksgiving break (my last post) I invited my family over to see our place. We had dinner and fondu....played Pictionary and Charades. Oh do I wish I had a picture of my mom acting out 'motorcycle'.
Then, Josh got to play some flag football in the 'turkey bowl'. I went and watched for a little while until I froze to death. However, Josh had to leave the game early because he pulled a muscle. But he did score a touchdown :)
Now, since i'm married and all, I have turned into Mrs. Homemaker. My friend gave me this awesome idea to make an ornament wreath. I couldn't resist the temptation and made it. Now our apartment really sparkles with Christmas spirit ;)
We headed down to Orangeville this year for Thanksgiving. I was a little worried about getting homesick, considering it was my first holiday away from my family. Suprisingly, I did very well. The night before Thanksgiving, Josh's sister Kari dyed my hair brown! It was fun-I needed the change. Plus, blonde jokes don't apply to me anymore. Total win-win situation.
Thanksgiving morning we started off running a 5K in Huntington with a lot of Josh's brothers and sister-in-laws. Josh and I were first timers to running a 5K. I about died with my lungs burning from the freezing air, while Josh got 5th place! Woo hoo! He ran it in about 23 minutes.
Thanksgiving dinner was awesome, and we ate until we were stuffed (obviously). After dinner we went shooting....shot clay things (lol, as you can tell i'm not familiar with this type of activity!). Needless to say, I was horrible. But it was fun to watch the Sharp men getting into it. Overall, very successful break!
