Book Burning Bonfire

Congrats on my twinner graduating from UVU! To celebrate (and to celebrate my aunts birthday) we went up to Millcreek Canyon and burned our college books! Great therapy it was! We had a fabo time. I think this sort of thing should be a tradition, stick it to those useless textbooks.

Mom's 50th Birthday Weekend

My momma turned the big 5-0 last week and to celebrate we all enjoyed a get-a-way to Midway! We all had a lot of a fun and it was a great last hurrah before summer ends. While we were there we basked in the sun at the pool, B went on his first carousel ride & fed some goats, ate some great food, checked out the crater at the Homestead, went on a hike (we got lost and it ended up being a bit longer than we planned), and obviously celebrated and had some cake for my mom's birthday!

She Runs 10k

Charlee & I ran out first 10k in Midway yesterday, the She Runs 10k. It is a womens only race...girl power :) It was a pretty hard course, the first 2 miles were up and then back down Memorial Hill then the 3-4th mile were slightly uphill as well. We conquered Memorial Hill, we didn't stop running up it, so that is all that matters!

This Is The Place Park

Summer is winding up quickly and i'm trying to fit everything I can into these last couple of weeks:) Today we went to This Is The Place Park, I had been wanting to go for a while and finally planned a trip.
It was a lot of fun...we rode a train around the park, checked out the petting zoo, and watched some indian tribal dancers. We had a fun picnic lunch, and afterwards we got our sugar fix at the penny candy store & ice cream shop. Our last stop was one of Brigham Youngs houses. It was really big and fun to see. The only bad part of the day was the heat.....it was hot hot hot.

DIY Project

I've been at it again. I have been trying to re-do Beckett's room a little bit and found this inspiration on Pinterest. I thought it was super cute AND useful for everyday use.
So....I found the same book shelf at Ikea, that was the easy part. The quote on wood was a little bit more time consuming. I got the wood board at The Wood Connection. I found a cute quote I loved from Dr. Seuss, typed it up and found a font I liked. To transfer that onto the wood I cut the quote into lines and covered the back of the paper in chalk, I taped the paper to the wood & traced the letters with pencil. By doing that it transfers the chalk letters onto the wood board so that you can paint it. Way less expensive than vinyl letters! It was very time consuming and tedious to paint all the letters but worth it in the end! Who knows what i'll get myself into next.
