14 1/2 Month Old Beckett

Beckett has been growing up so fast lately, I feel like I have to jot it all down or i'll forget it someday! I can't believe how much he has grown and developed in the short 14 1/2 months that he has been here, it is amazing.

One simple thing to say about him is that Beckett is ALL BOY. He loves to get into trouble, loves swords/sticks, has a favorite past time of collecting rocks, and is happiest when wrestling or getting thrown around. He likes going on walks in the stroller, but he of course prefers it when we're going jogging-the faster the better. Beckett has mastered walking, he practically runs everywhere now. He is also getting better and better at going up and down stairs, nothing stops him, he is ALWAYS moving.

Beckett is learning so fast too! It seems like every day he is learning new words or responding correctly to what I ask. Lately he is mastering where his body parts are, like his nose, he can point to that if you ask. He will also give me his binky if I ask, those kinds of things. He still doesn't say a lot of words, his favorite word is "dog". Unfortunately, because he can't say a whole lot yet, he just whines or yells when he wants something. It's coming soon though, those words, I can tell.

Becketts favorite foods: ramen, spaghetti, mac n cheese, grapes, any fruit really, green beans, yogurt, string cheese, hot dogs, and sweets of course.

Beckett is the best boy, I can't wait to see what's coming next:)

Quarter of a Century

Yep, the old twinner & I are officially a quarter of a century old. I can't say i'm too excited...I haven't been excited about birthdays since I turned 21. However, we had a fab birthday.

Josh was sweet and planned a fun day for me. After I got back from the gym he had hid all of my presents and I had to do a scavenger hunt to find them. I must admit, his clues were pretty clever. After that he treated me to a pedicure :) We met my family & grandparents for lunch at Cafe Trio. Delish. Cake and ice cream of course was next at my parent's house. I was very spoiled, I have a great family.

My parents gave Josh & I a break and watched Beckett for us while we went to a movie, Spiderman, to be exact. I didn't care much about going to see Spiderman but I would recommend it, I liked it a lot better than the Toby McGuire Spidermans.

Cheers to another great year of life!

Re-Fashioning

Thanks to Pinterest I have had many crafts on my to-do list. My latest inspiration was to take old clothes or items I don't wear anymore and make them into something new. I have re-fashioned 2 items so far and have loved the outcome!

The first was an old pair of AE capris. I really liked how they fit and they were comfy but the length of the capri was really awkward so I never wore them. Instead of capris, I made them into bermuda shorts. Luckily raw-edge jeans are in style so I didn't have to sew at all. All I did was cut them off at a good length for me and rolled them up. Wallah!

The other item was an older maxi dress I had. As many of you know I am a bit of a giant so after about 1 wear this maxi dress became too short. So.....I cut off the top of the dress. I then measured my natural waist and sewed on a thick elastic waistband. Now I have a cute maxi skirt!

San Rafael Triathlon

This year we embarked on our first triathlon competition. We have been training for the last little while and were as ready as we were going to get for it this year. We also convinced my dad to do it with us as well (Josh's brothers Ryan & Jacob also did it....it was their 3rd time).

We got up BRIGHT and early Saturday morning, 5 a.m. to be exact. We got to the race around 5:30, it was at Huntington Lake which is about 15 minutes east of Price. We got our transition stations set up, got our wet suits on and waited nervously for our start times. The men's sprint started 5 minutes before the womens so I got to see them all start. We had to jump in the lake at the end of the boat dock and wait for the whistle. The swim was 1/2 mile long. I felt great in the swim but the boys hated it. After the swim you had to run up the boat ramp to your transition station, undress & get your biking gear on. I was able to make good time in the swim because that is my strong suit. We then had a 15 mile bike ride and finished with a 5k run that you ran around Huntington Lake. My dad schooled everyone in the bike ride & Josh killed th run....we all have our different strengths. Once said and done I think we all had a lot of fun and definitely want to do it again next year.

The stats:
Josh: finished in 1 hr 41 minutes. Finished 2nd in his age group & 20th overall!
Poppa Stapley: 1 hr 43 minutes. Finished 1st in his age group!! He finished 24th overall.
Me: 1 hr 48 minutes. I finished 2nd in my age group & 9th overall.

Now is the sad news. After the race I was looking at pictues of us all while we were competing and I accidentally erased ALL of the pictures on my camera! I was so upset. Now the only pictures to remember the experience were the random ones taken from people's phones.

Also....after the race we went boating for a bit. Beckett looked so cute in this speedo sun hat we found.

4th of July Festivities

Oh, I love the 4th of July. It's always a lot of fun and I enjoy the Centerville festivities. We started off our day bright and early running the Centerville 5k.
 Then watched the Centerville Parade.
 Beckett is a ladies man.

We went to Founders Park afterwards and hung out for a bit.

That night we headed to Hooper to celebrate great-grandma Mona's 90th birthday. I think we all want to be like Mona when we're 90-she's doing great! For dinner we had 'BBQ Sundae's'....so nummy!
Then topped off the night with fireworks @ Davis High School. I was a little nervous but Beckett had a great time.
This is a picture of B playing with his light up saber grandpa got him. Beckett is such a spoiled boy.

Park City Family Vaca

Vacations! That is 1 word to decribe the last week or so for our family. About 1 day after we got back from the Sharp family vacation we left to Park City with my side of the family. We stayed at a BEAUTIFUL townhome at The Canyons.
The first night we partied in the hot tub:

The next day we had some fun at the pool:
Then we went and checked out the olympic park. We go to see some of the downhill skiiers practicing their flips.
Traditionally, we went to Park City and went on the Alpine Coaster:
One night we ate at yummy restaraunt at The Canyons. Beckett, being his 1 year old self was a little too wild, so we played outside after we ate.
Went hiking:
Checked out the Park Silly Farmers Market (it was fabulous).
Rode the FUNICULAR (a mix between an elevator & gondola) up to the St. Regis and had dessert.
Family shot & the view from the top of St. Regis (located at Deer Valley).

Thanks gma & gpa Pete for planning this awesome vacation!
