This year we went down to Orangeville for Orangeville Days, which was the weekend after the 24th. We had a lot of fun while we were there and kept really busy!
Friday night they had a kids bike parade. Beckett and his cousins decorated their bikes and had a fun time riding in the parade. Afterwards we had the 'lamb fry' dinner at the park and bike races. They did it by age group. I wasn't sure if Beckett would actually do it because he tends to get shy in those types of situations. HOWEVER, he did and he won! He rode his bike in the 3-4 year old age group and took first, that little stud won 5 bucks that he got to put in his piggy bank :)
They also had a pig chase. Only in Orangeville, right? They did that in age groups as well. Beckett and Bridger participated and went on the baseball field to try and touch the pig. They ran and ran but were too afraid to touch the pig. After a while Josh & Dustin each grabbed their boy and pretty much threw them on top of the pig. Haha, a little tough love never hurt anybody.....I guess.
Saturday morning was the Orangeville Days 5k and parade. We did the 5k to start our morning off right. At the parade they threw a TON of candy. At this point in the parade season, Beckett is a pro candy catcher.
We headed to Joes Valley that afternoon to do a little boating. Josh did some killer wakeboarding. He even got Beckett to get out into the water and on the wakeboard. They didn't last too long out there but they did ride the wakeboard on their tummies for a minute. Pretty brave for a 3 year old if you ask me!
The fun doesn't stop there! That night we went to the rodeo in Castledale. It was the kids first time at a rodeo. Beckett enjoyed seeing all the animals but it was a little too long for him to sit still. That night they topped off the celebrations with fireworks. It was a long, fun day. They really know how to celebrate in Orangeville!
