Josh didn't get the summer off this year, instead he is working in the school's clinic. However, he did get a week off, luckily. We kept busy and had a lot of fun the week he was home. We called it our 'staycation'.
The first weekend we were invited, with other neighborhood friends, to visit my neighbors family's farm for a bbq. The kids loved it! They had lots of farm animals they looked at, room to run (and fall and scrap your leg-like B did 3 times), and a ride on the 'bumpy wagon'. Oh, they had a blast.
Monday, we went to the Living Planet Aquarium. It was a lot of fun to see. Touching the Sting Ray and Starfish was a big highlight of the trip.
Tuesday we went on a hike up Mueller Park. We made it pretty far up, considering the 2 little ones we had strapped to us. Harlow was such a trooper, she didn't cry once. She took it all in and babbled the whole way up. Afterwards we stopped for shaved ice at Hokulia, naturally.
Wednesday of the staycation, we went swimming. Beckett can't get enough swimming in this summer. He absolutely loves it, he is a total water baby. He is pretty dang brave too, it's a good thing we always have his life vest 'Sharky' strapped to him.
The next couple of days we had backyard fun with a water contraption that Josh built. The 4th of July was also at the tail end of our Staycation. We had a great time spending time together as a little family!
