4th of July

We started our celebrations the night before at Eaglewood Fireworks. We didn't actually stay for the fireworks because we had to get up early the next day, but we did stay long enough to watch 3 skydivers land right next to us. It was awesome, the kids loved it. Beckett is still talking about it!

We started off our 4th of July bright and early (per tradition) to run the Centerville 5k. This year Beckett, my dad, cousin Dax, and Uncle Brett joined us. It was a quick race and I beat my time from last year so that made it fun!

After that we went to the Centerville Parade, another favorite tradition of mine. Beckett stood in the street the entire time catching loads of candy (with the help of cousin Brooks). Once done, we headed to the park to hang out, eat, and Beckett played on some of the blow up toys.

We took it easy that afternoon and then headed to the fireworks at Davis High. I couldn't believe it but Harlow slept through the fireworks! They are so loud that I was sure it would wake her up. She must have been one tuckered out baby girl :)

Josh's Summer Vacation

Josh didn't get the summer off this year, instead he is working in the school's clinic. However, he did get a week off, luckily. We kept busy and had a lot of fun the week he was home. We called it our 'staycation'.

The first weekend we were invited, with other neighborhood friends, to visit my neighbors family's farm for a bbq. The kids loved it! They had lots of farm animals they looked at, room to run (and fall and scrap your leg-like B did 3 times), and a ride on the 'bumpy wagon'. Oh, they had a blast.

Monday, we went to the Living Planet Aquarium. It was a lot of fun to see. Touching the Sting Ray and Starfish was a big highlight of the trip.

Tuesday we went on a hike up Mueller Park. We made it pretty far up, considering the 2 little ones we had strapped to us. Harlow was such a trooper, she didn't cry once. She took it all in and babbled the whole way up. Afterwards we stopped for shaved ice at Hokulia, naturally.

Wednesday of the staycation, we went swimming. Beckett can't get enough swimming in this summer. He absolutely loves it, he is a total water baby. He is pretty dang brave too, it's a good thing we always have his life vest 'Sharky' strapped to him.

The next couple of days we had backyard fun with a water contraption that Josh built. The 4th of July was also at the tail end of our Staycation. We had a great time spending time together as a little family!

Harlow: 5 Month Update

5 months already? Time sure flies. Here is what Harlow is up to these days:
  • Loves to be talked to
  • Takes 1 good 2-3 hour nap a day
  • Likes to be rocked to sleep
  • Loves when her brother talks to her or plays with her
  • Loves to blow bubbles with her mouth
  • Has a big, adorable smile
  • Likes to giggle (her dad makes her giggle the best)
  • Likes to roll over (back to tummy)
  • Chewing on her feet is her favorite past time
  • She still isn't sure about Oatmeal, it usually takes her a few bites to decide she is okay with it
  • Loves chewing on watermelon
  • Has tried applesauce, watermelon, and bananas. She didn't like bananas too much
  • Is becoming VERY aware of the world around her
  • Likes grabbing at anything near her
  • She is starting to become a mama's girl (I'm not too upset about it) ;)
  • Last but not least, she is getting some deliciously chubby legs. We love it.

Summer Break

It's summer! We have had SO much fun these past few weeks. I love being able to stay home in the summer. It's probably the best perk of being a teacher. We have truly lived each day like it's our last day of summer.

We spent one night fishing with Dustin's family at Bountiful pond.

Beckett started a summer recreation program at the park by our house.
Sibling bonding.
We've spent a lot of time in our garden. It is flourishing!

Lot's of swimming.

We went to Summerfest in Logan & the kids car show in Bountiful. Beckett loved the cotton candy!

Ate dinner on a bus.

Hung out with my littles.

Last but not least....a picture of my baldies :)
