Favorite Moments of 2014

Every year I try to sum up our year in one final post. This year I am having a hard time narrowing down my favorite moments....there are just TOO MANY! Instead of condensing our year I am going to pick the most important moments for our family.

#1: The birth of our baby girl, Harlow.

#2: Enjoyed a family get-a-way to St. George for Spring Break.

#3: Celebrated Beckett's 3rd Birthday & Harlows Blessing.

#4: Family vacations to Manti (with the Sharps) and Deer Valley (with the Petersens)

#5: Reached 5 years of marriage, celebrating with a kidless trip to Vegas.

#6: Partied during the Holidays like it was nobody's business.

Harlow: 11 Months

Our Harlow girl is 11 months old! Before we know it she'll be a year old. This girl gets more and more of a personality every day. She lights up the room and almost always has a smile on her face.

  • She is standing on her own! She can't stand on her own for long but she can long enough to clap for herself :)
  • She is really good at standing up and walking around while holding on to objects.
  • She loves to laugh, smile, and clap.
  • She loves to play peek-a-boo
  • Harlow is not such a good sleeper :( She is really good at refusing to take naps and has trouble going to sleep. She is now down to 1 nap a day instead of 2.
  • She still loves her bottle. She definitely prefers her formula over real food. Her favorite snacks are crackers, yogurt bites, and baby Cheetos.
  • She likes following Beckett around and watching his every move.
  • Harlow loves bath time. She always has a ball and loves to splash.
  • Hates getting dressed! Anytime we put her on her changing table she is constantly crying and objecting.
  • Harlow is on the cusp of walking. She is getting really good at maneuvering around, she has taken 1 step but hasn't tried more than that yet.
  • Loves her Frozen scooter toy she got for Christmas, looking at books, and hugging stuffed animals.

Christmas!!!

Our family got spoiled ROTTEN this Christmas! Let's start out with Christmas Eve. We started out the morning with some yummy french toast & the kids each got to open 1 present. We went to a movie with the kids & Bree in the afternoon. Not such a good idea with an 11 month old. That night we had our Stapley party. We ate, talked, and took some fun pictures with our Christmas props.

Christmas morning was a fun one. When we came out into the living room the first thing Beckett saw were Santa's footprints and checked out that the cookies and reindeer treats were all gone. He was loving it! Then the madness began. The kids checked out their toys and played....I don't think they ever stopped until they went to bed that night. We then opened presents under our tree, hung out for a minute and headed to my parents house. We had a nice brunch at my parents and opened presents there as well. Like I said, we all got spoiled! Some of the favorites this year were my new Hunter boots and Lululemon swag, Beckett's legos & Build-a-road set, Harlow's Frozen scooter, and Josh's are his new Oakley glasses and church clothes.

After hanging out at my parents for a while we went to my grandparents house for Christmas dinner. That's always one of my favorite dinners of the entire year....mmm mmm good. By the time dinner was over we were exhausted from the long day; however, the kids didn't get the memo. Beckett was running around the crazy the entire time. He even talked the entire way home. That boy....he has more energy that i'll ever be able to comprehend! Overall we had a FABULOUS Christmas and can't wait to go to Orangeville to celebrate with our other side of the family :)

The Christmas Season

The Holidays are my FAVORITE time of year. Josh knows this all too well! We like to keep it fun and busy with Christmas activities. We tried out some new things this year and I think they were a hit.
The kids took pictures with 'Santa' (Josh dressed up as Santa so that we could get a good picture) at Gardner Village.

We saw the lights at Temple Square. So busy this year!

Made Christmas sugar cookies.
The kids had a Christmas Program at Spartan Station. Afterwards, they met Santa!

Josh & I went to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's Christmas Concert, preceded by one of our new favorite restaurants, Michelangelos.
We went to the Grand America to see the decorated windows and giant gingerbread house.

And let's not forget the cuteness of my children this time of year:
