Sharp Reunion: Island Park, ID

Whew! We had a few busy, busy weeks. About 2 days after we got home from Deer Valley we packed up the car again to head to the Sharp reunion in Island Park, Idaho. On our drive up it started raining like crazy! The weather was not as expected. It felt more like late fall than summer. We stayed in a nice big cabin with a wrap around porch. It was pretty and right in the heart of the mountains.

While we were there we fished, explored around the cabin, floated the Snake River, participated in the Sharp games, and spent a day in Yellowstone. It was a blast!

On our way home we stopped in Idaho Falls. I'd never been there before so we stopped, ate lunch, an explored a little bit. It was a very pretty city!

Petersen Family Vacation: Deer Valley

This year we went up to Deer Valley for a little vacation with my Petersen side of the family. We stayed all together in a super nice house in the mountains. It was gorgeous! While we were there we went to the Park City Arts Festival, bike rides, paddle boarding, the alpine slide, and went to a concert at the Canyons. It was a lot of fun. It's always a good time with family and we look forward to it every year!

24th of July & Orangeville Days

Oh boy, our computer has been out of service for quite a while so I'm now able to update our little family blog!

Let's start off with the end of July. We celebrated the 24th of July here with the Bountiful Parade. The kids were well accustomed to parades by then and got all the candy they could handle.

A few days later we headed down to Orangeville for the annual Orangeville Days.  There is always a ton to do so we really love going down to celebrate with Josh's family. We started off at the park with the kid bike races and lamb fry. That night they had the pig chase. I decided to participate this year and what do you know...I won! I caught the pig! It was also DISGUSTING. I knew pigs smelled, but that pig was a whole new level of nasty smell. Then we continued with the home run derby and games.

The next morning was the parade and games/food at the park. We spent most of the day there enjoying the festivities. That afternoon, we decided to get out of the busy and go boating at Joes Valley. You can't go wrong with that!

Romeo

Currently, our computer is under the weather so I'm behind on blogging. I wanted to write a memorial blog post dedicated to our dog, Romeo.

Romeo decided to run away from my parents house about 3 weeks ago. So sad! We're finally coming to the conclusion that he isn't coming home. It's been hard to transition and hard when you don't get to say goodbye!

We got Romeo during our first year of marriage, so he is all we know! He definitely had his quirks: hopping fences, barking uncontrollably at the UPS man, potty training difficulties, and only running in left handed circles. We loved him all the same! He was AWESOME with our kids and they loved him. They spent countless hours playing with him.  He was very protective and loyal to us. Just the other day in the car Beckett said a prayer (this was about the 3rd incidence) asking that Romeo was safe, had food to eat, had shelter, and that he was happy. It was so sweet. Beckett is convinced that he lives in the trees somewhere and made a home for himself:)
